    Step 1 - School Description
For convenience, the description of the school has been imported from the previous year's SCIP.  The school may choose to modify this description of the school, as appropriate.

    Step 2 - Data Conclusions
Schools will use this section to state the site decision-makers' conclusions drawn from an analysis of data available via the Data Center, School Quality Reviews or other sources. Schools will be asked to pay particular attention to results on the SCIP Outcomes that they included in the previous year's SCIP.

Different data types that you can currently access from the Data Center include, but are not limited to, the following:
    - test scores (BST, MCA, and TEAE),
    - attendance,
    - enrollment trends,
    - parent involvement,
    - student participation in special programs
    - absences,
    - graduation rate, continuation rate, and/or drop-out rate,
    - honors course completion rates.
Click here to login to the SCIP website. Then, select your school from the "Select a School" menu.  Finally, click on the DATA tab to view your school's data.

    Step 3 - SCIP Outcomes
The school will identify its outcomes for improved performance on the Data Center indicators, such as raising reading scores or graduation rates. Each school will choose their specific outcomes and the number of SCIP Outcomes in its plan.  Outcomes are aligned with the District's Strategic Plan.

A drop-down menu of carefully worded outcome statements that are in accordance with the state and federal language within No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation will provide site decision-makers with a place to start identifying their SCIP Outcomes.  Schools will be able to personalize an outcome they select by adding their school-specific information to the outcome statement.

Additionally, schools have the option to create school-specific outcome statements based on site-level data and conclusions.

    Step 4 - Improvement Initiatives
Schools will identify the efforts that will be undertaken to achieve the SCIP Outcomes. Schools will choose the number of Improvement Initiatives in the SCIP. For each Improvement Initiative included in the SCIP, schools will need to provide a Research-base and/or Rationale that supports implementation of the particular Improvement Initiative.  Schools will also briefly describe the work that will take place in each of the following categories, if/as applicable to the Improvement Initiative:
    • Efforts to improve the Environment for Learning,
    • Efforts to strengthen Curriculum Content and Instructional Practices in alignment with the Assessed Needs and Strengths of Students,
    • Staff Development Efforts/Activities linked to the Improvement Initiative,
    • Family Involvement Efforts/Activities linked with the Improvement Initiative.

    Step 5a - Outcomes-Initiatives Matrix
In this section schools will see their abbreviated SCIP Outcomes and SCIP Improvement Initiatives in a matrix format.  The matrix is designed to show the connections between a school's Outcomes and Initiatives. A "Yes" indicates that the Improvement Initiative is intended to address the corresponding SCIP Outcome. A "No" indicates that the Improvement Initiative is NOT intended to address the corresponding Outcome.

    Step 5b - Budget-Initiatives Matrix
Schools will complete a Budget-Initiatives Matrix in order to show the coordination of funds used to support each Initiative. A "Yes" under a given fund indicates that the Improvement Initiative is at least partially funded by this specific fund. A "No" indicates that the Improvement Initiative is NOT funded by the corresponding fund.

    Step 6 - Assurances
The Assurances Worksheet is a response form on which schools confirm the level at which they are implementing mandatory federal, state and district policies and procedures.  To access the Assurances Worksheet, schools will need to click on the "Assurances" tab within the web-based SCIP.

    Step 7 - Signatures
Within the Signatures section of the SCIP, the school principal and site council chairs add their electronic signatures to the SCIP, thereby confirming that they have reviewed and support the contents of the plan.  Their signatures also confirm that they have reviewed and support the school's implementation of the mandatory federal, state and district policies and procedures included within the Assurances Worksheet.

    Step 8 - Print
The Print tab opens a new browser window with the SCIP plan organized and formatted for printing.
