School Comprehensive Improvement Plan (SCIP)
 

2008-09 SCIP Completion Checklist

 

Prior to the May 2nd deadline, please review this checklist to make sure your SCIP is complete:

o     Does your school/program description within the DESCRIPTION section of the SCIP include the information you want it to include?

o     Have you completed/updated your “Conclusions from Data Analysis” within the DATA section of the SCIP?

o     Have you completed/updated the GOALS section of the SCIP (including the Abbreviated Goal statement, which is used within the Matrix)?  Are your Goals measurable and focused on what students will achieve?

o     Have you completed/updated the STRATEGIES section of the SCIP, including the following pieces within each Initiative?

o     Abbreviated Initiative statement (which is used within the Matrix)

o     Check boxes for Action Plan items

o     Research-Basis/Rationale for this Strategy

o     Environment for Learning

o     Curriculum Content and Instructional Programs Linked to Students’ Assessed Needs and Strengths

o     Staff/Professional Development

o     Parent/Family Involvement

 

o     If your school/program receives Title I funds, have you completed the TITLE I section of the SCIP?

 

o     Have you completed the MATRIX section of the SCIP so that each box within the Goals/Initiatives Matrix and the Budgets/Strategies Matrix appears with a “Yes” or a “No”?

o     Have you completed the Assurances of Intent to Meet Mandates by indicating the “Level of Implementation” (from the drop-down menu) for each of the Assurances?

o     Have you proofread/spellchecked each area of the SCIP?

o     Has the Principal electronically signed the SCIP (by going to the Signatures section of the SCIP website)?

o     Have the Site Council Chairperson(s) electronically signed the SCIP (by going to the Signatures section of the SCIP website)?

 

Other Reminders:

o     Have you completed and e-mailed your budget information (Excel spreadsheet) to Jaber Alsiddiqui in the Business Office?

o     Have you completed and e-mailed your staffing worksheet (Excel spreadsheet) to your Staffing Specialist in Human Resources?

o     If your school/program receives Title I funds, have you submitted the required Title I documentation to the Title I department at 2102 University Ave.?

o     NO hard copies of the SCIP or the Assurances need to be submitted to the Office of Accountability.  Once the Principal and Site Council Chairperson(s) have electronically “signed” the SCIP and the Assurances, central office administrators are able to see that the SCIP and Assurances are COMPLETE and can access the completed SCIP electronically by going to the SCIP website.
